The featured airplane is a 1938 Stinson Reliant SR-10J. The title is significant in two ways. The airplane was legendary in its time, admired for its luxurious, automotive-type features like an artificial wood-grain panel, roll-down windows, cranks and hang straps. The other legend is Jimmy Doolittle. He was Shell Oil’s aviation manager in 1938 when Shell Oil purchased the plane. During the next few years Doolittle flew over 100 flights in the Stinson, traveling the country for his employer. Measures 17 1/2" X 26". Edition size: 300. Signed and numbered.
